Will There Still Be Schools and Teachers in the Future?-Final

Many people claim that in one day, schools and teachers will be extinct. We can see that with the rapid pace of development in information and technology, people are more independent in learning and rely less and less on their teachers.

I do agree that students rely less and less to their teachers nowadays. In most modern curriculums, students are pushed to be more independent in learning and rely less to their teachers. Added with the advent of information technology, and ease of access to the information today, students can get their materials for their study much easier, and therefore, rely less on their teachers.

In the other hand, teachers' role is still irreplaceable. Even though that we can learn by ourselves thanks to the internet, but sometimes, there are materials that we can't understand and we need someone to explain it. Also, we can't learn by ourselves-We still need teachers to teach us.

In the end, we are still unable to replace the teachers' role. Even though that now we can find and learn about the information that we find on the internet by ourselves, but we still need a teacher when facing a difficult theory to understand or question to solve. So we can say that for a long, long time, teachers will still play a big role in education.

What's Popular in Indonesia-Final

The aim for this report is to represent what is popular in Indonesia. To gather the data, I interviewed my friends in class and use some other references as well. The report here covers food, sport, music, TV shows, and methods of transportation.

First, I'd like to explain the kinds of popular foods in Indonesia. There are actually many kinds of food in Indonesia such as Nasi Goreng, Nasi Uduk, Soto Betawi, Soto Kudus, and etc. However, as time advances, many kinds of new food are introduced in Indonesia, like fast foods, Pizza, and etc. But from what I find, most of the people here would prefer traditional foods.

Secondly, I'd like to explain what kind of popular music in Indonesia. Indonesia has many kinds of traditional music, with the most famous being Dangdut. But as of now, only about 5-15% of teenagers like us who like Dangdut. And about 90-95% of teenagers here like to listen to modern Indonesian pop songs which are mostly dominated by boybands and girlbands. Also, some of us like other kind of music like K-Pop, J-Pop, and etc.

Third, I'd like to explain about popular methods of transportation in Indonesia. Even though that most, if not all the students here use private cars, but in truth, the most popular method of transportation here is motorcycles, or to be precise, "Motor Bebek" thanks to their small size and maneouverability to cope with traffic jams in big cities like Jakarta. Many Indonesians also like to use public transportations like Metromini, Kopaja, and KRL for them to go around. And those vehicles are usually overcrowded.

Fourth, I'd also like to explain about popular kinds of Television shows here. Most of the students I asked prefer reality shows and Sinetron (Sinema Elektronik-Lit. Electronic Cinema-Soap Opera). However, some of the teenagers here also like Japanese animation, also known as Anime

From this report, I can say that most of the teenagers here prefer modern things over traditional things, even though that the traditional ones still keep strong existence until now. Most of us also share interests between each other. My closing words are that it is okay to like modern things, but remember to keep traditional culture's existence as they originate from Indonesia, so it's up to us to keep its existence or not. That is all.

Will It Be Possible To Live Forever?-Final

Many people say that it will be possible to live forever in the future. This is of course, an interesting idea for us. But I don't think it will really happen.

It is true that there's an amazing progress of medical technology over the past decades. In the few last decades, scientists have invented many new kinds of medical technology and were able to eliminate most of once deadly diseases in the 20th centuries such as Polio, Smallpox, and many others. They also have developed a technique that is called Cyronics to preserve humans and animals, with hopes of healing and resuscitation in the future

But we should remember that eternal live will never be possible. Even with all the advancements in medical technologies, scientists are still unable to invent a technique that allows a person to live forever. Also, the efforts of achieving physical immortality has raised many questions in medical, philosophical, and religion aspects. For example, even though major religions in the world do believe about afterlife, but none of them that has a belief of physical immortality.

In the end, I can say that physical immortality will never be possible. Even with the advances of medical technology, there's still no way to achieve what we call "immortality", and we might never be able to achieve it. Also, God has stated that everything that lives will return to Him, and will be resurrected in the afterlife. So, it's perfectly safe to believe that we will never be able to live forever.

Will There Still Be Schools and Teachers in the Future?

Many people claim that someday, schools and teachers will eventually extinct. We can see that today, with the rapid pace of development in Information Technology, such as E-Learning, Internet, and such made people are more and more independent in study and rely less and less on their teachers.

I do agree that students rely less and less on their teacher. In most modern curriculum, students are forced to be more active in learning, and with the advent of technology and ease of access to information on their hands, they can easily find the materials they need to study on the Internet, so they'll rely less to their teachers.

In the other hand, teachers' role is still not replaceable. Even though that we are now able to learn by ourselves without teachers, but often, there's a material on the Internet that we can't understand well, and the only one who can explain it is our teacher. Also, we of course can't learn by ourselves and still need to be taught by a teacher.

In the end, it is still clear that we can never replace teachers' role. It doesn't matter if we can learn and find all the information by ourselves, but we still need a teacher in many situations when we face a difficult question to solve, or a difficult to understand theory. So, we can say that for a very long time, teachers will still play important role in education.

Teenage Nowadays Final

Teenage is such an age where everything changed. It's up to the person, what do you want to become?

In modern era like this, technology such as blackberry, television, social networks, and many more have really big influence in habits of teenagers nowadays. It's not rare to see even kids, have their own iPhone.

In class, teens used to be so polite and listen to the teachers, but now, you can see they have their iPod or blackberry in the class, when teachers explain about the subjects.

They often go home late, skipping classes, surfing the net every night, they smoke, and many of them drink alcohol even though it's not legal in their ages, and some even using drugs.

They don't want to listen to their parents, most of them are rude, like wild, rebellious animal that have no dreams and good personality.

In Indonesia, especially, not all of teenagers have their 'something' that lead them to a good way. Most of those kinds of teenagers are the one who usually, don't get enough attention from their parents, or gave up their dreams already. But of course, not all of teenagers are like that.

You can still find the one that passion in their hobbies like reading, experimenting, drawing, and try to develop their talents like singing and such. With this kind of teenagers, sure Indonesia can be a developed country, which has more than enough good future leaders.

Will there still be schools and teachers in the future?

Will there still be schools and teachers in the future? We have had schools and teachers since hundreds, or thousands year ago. But future is something that people won't ever know. Scientists predict, in 40 years there probably won't be any teachers and schools. There's a lot of possibility that they will be replaced by computers and robots, since technology have gone more and more advanced throughout the years.

I don't really like the idea though. Because school isn't only the place to study, school is also the place where students get their social life. They can make friends and learn ethics and social ability. If our children and grandchildren don't go to schools, they would be antisocial and have no ethics.

Besides, even though robots might know better than teachers do, there is something that robots don't have. It is experience. Some teachers tell their experience and their mistakes to the students, because experience is the best teachers, than only theory.

To conclude, robots and computers might teach things differently and in fantastic ways, but schools and teachers are irreplaceable. School is the most important social activity a student can get, and teachers have heart and brain that robots will never have.

Will there still be schools and teachers in the future?

Majority of people claim that in the future, there will be no schools and teachers. People's opinions are surely interesting, but kindly I do not believe it will really happen in the future.


It is true that most of teenagers in this era aren't really interested in teaching in the future. Student nowadays have so many brilliant ideas and they also can understand lessons easily, but some of them have problems in explaining knowledge. There are also students who can easily explain knowledge they know, but they do not have any interest in teaching or explaining their knowledge to another people. But surely in the future teachers will still exist, because there are still students nowadays who dream to become teachers.


But school is one of the place where kids can explore and develop their abilities, both academic abilities and social abilities. The amount of people will increase in the future, and kids in the future also need to study. It may be possible to study with private teachers, but kids also have to socialize with other people. Schools do teach academic aspects but they have to balance students' academic aspects with students' social lives. Afterall, kids are also social beings who need others to live.


To conclude, I would like to say that schools and teachers will be needed in the future. May be in 30 years' time, there are many types of schools which give different types of studying and teaching, and maybe there are also robots who can teach. But I believe schools and teachers would always be needed, in the past, present and future.

Will it be possible to live forever?

Scientists claim that there’re some ways for humans to be able to live forever. But what scientists actually mean is not that we will never die, but to live for hundreds of years by tweaking our DNA. It's a very great concept, I don't think it will always work though.

Is it proved that all the stuffs scientists have invented could make humans have immortality? People who claimed to be immortal themselves, such as Leonard "Live-Forever" Jones and Alex Chiu (developer of a "Magnetic Immortality Device"), failed to be immortal physically. Leonard; who was an eccentric who ran for President of the United States between the late 1840s and 1860s on a platform of immortality, believed that mortaIity was only a matter of poor morals, and with prayer anyone could live forever. It simply means that science technology has nothing to do with immortality. And the ones who have longer life than the majority of people probably just have healthier life because of their better daily routines. 

 

If we look up onto religious perpective, based on the question, the answer could be yes or no. It depends on which side of perpective we look from. If it's physical immortality, the answer might be no. Because at the end we're all gone and die. And if what to live forever is our soul, then the answer is yes, we absolutely could live forever because our souls are immortal. After losing our bodies, we’ll get to go to the afterlife. Most of religions in the world believe this. Besides, there're 5 reasons immortality would be worse than death, they're #1 Evolution would turn you into a freak, #2 If you had immortality, then you'd be the center of people's attention, or even worse be a god. People would ask you what the secret to have an eternal life is, and you'd be insane. #3 You would still get older mentally. #4 Time would speed up until you go insane. #5 You'd eventually get trapped somewhere forever. 

To conclude, I'd like to say that it will never be possible to have an eternal life. Though there're so many science tecnologies that could help us humans, there's still no way to live forever. We have to always be sure of our beliefs, that someday we'll be called by God to live on the other side.

Will It Be Possible To Live Forever?

Many people claim that with the advent of modern pharmacies and medical technology, it will be eventually possible to live forever. This is, of course, a very interesting ideas to us humans. But I do not believe that it will happen

It is true that the scientists have made an amazing progress in medical and pharmacy technology over the past decades. They have invented many new kinds of surgery techniques, pharmacy, and medical technologies that has decreased amounts of deaths by diseases, and extend the people's lifespan. In fact, they have eliminated most of the once deadly diseases in the 20th centuries like Polio, Smallpox, and etc. They even have developed a technique called Cryonics to preserve humans and animals that can't be sustained by modern medicines with hopes that healing and resuscitation will be possible in the future.

But we should remember that an eternal life will never be possible. Even with all the advances of the medical technologies, there is still no way for scientists to invent a method to prevent a person from dying, and the efforts to achieve clinical immortality has raised several medical, philosophical, and religious issues and ethical questions. Also, even though that most of the major religions in world do believe about afterlife, but there is no such thing about physical immortality in their beliefs.

To conclude, I would say that physical (Biological) immortality is not going to be possible. Even with all the advances of the medical technology, we are still not able to achieve what is called "immortality" and probably we won't ever be. And besides, it has been stated by God that everything will die before then resurrected in the afterlife. So, it's safe to believe that immortality is not going to be likely to happen.

The aim of this report to show you what is popular in Indonesia.Indonesia has many popular aspect. But in this report i will discuss three items, sport, music, and Public Transportation.

Sport: In Indonesia there are many sports are favored among the people. But, the most popular are soccer and badminton. In Indonesia, soccer is very popular from the start of children to adults. But hooligans sometimes do not appreciate the game, they often interfere with the game. Sometimes to the hooligans finished bye brawl, in some case they could death too. That's a few things that I can say about the sport in Indonesia.

Music: Many types of music featured in Indonesia, from dangdut to reggae. But which I will discuss now is dangdut. Dangdut is the original music genre from Indonesia.

Public transportation: There are lots of publictransport in Indonesia, for example, rickshaws and three-wheeler. Rickshaws is a transportation that have 3 wheels, 1 wheel bacward and 2 wheels on the side. 

Indonesian Cultures

We will never have enough time to discuss about Indonesian cultures. Everybody knows that Indonesia has different cultures and languages. There are Tari Kecak from Bali and Tari Saman from Aceh, for example. And the music instruments are so various as well, like Java, who's well-known for gamelan. Since there are so many, some countries are trying to steal our traditional cultures.

This report is maybe quite ordinary. I'm pretty sure much of you have heard about this, but most people who read similar reports don't really think about it. They just read the article and forget about it. Well, I have to admit, I was included to those people.

Malaysia has been trying to steal our Tari Pendet, admitting that dance has been theirs. They also try to steal our traditional music from West Java -- angklung. They tried to steal Batik as well, but the world is finally admitting that batik is from Indonesia.

The point is, there are countries who try to steal our cultures. This wouldn't happen if we pay attention and proud of our cultures. Other countries wouldn't dare stealing our cultures. So, I think we have to try to care more about our own cultures, and be proud about them.

What's Popular in Indonesia

And my closing words are It's okay if we prefer modern things, but we should remember that we still have to maintain the existence of traditional cultures here, as they originate from Indonesia, so it's entirely up to us to keep it alive or not. Transportation in Indonesia

Indonesia, with so many islands have lots of different cultures in each islands. They have different traditions, rituals, until facilities. One of the facilities are public transportation. Indonesia has so many types of transportations, from land transportations until air transportations, divided also into traditional transportations and modern transportations.

First, I would like to explain about traditional transportations in Indonesia. There are several transportations which are still used in Indonesia, like Andong/Delman, a traditional transportation which is pulled by a horse,  which can be found in West Java, Central Java and East Java, becak (a three-wheel cycle thing, the driver paddle on the back) which also can be found in areas I have mentioned earlier, sampan-- a boat which is often used by Kalimantan people, and many more. There are still plenty traditional vehicle in Indonesia I haven't mentioned below, especially in some remote areas in some parts of Indonesia.

The next thing I would like to explain is about modern transportations. Many of us know that there are also plenty of modern transportations in Indonesia. People use taxis, public buses, private cars, bajaj, etc. But there are a lot of private cars in streets and they caused some of traffic jams in Indonesia, especially Jakarta. Pollution can also occur because of the big amount of private cars.

From this report, I can conclude that traditional transportations and modern transportations have each advantages and disadvantages. The fact that traditional transportations are now rarely used and we're now using modern transportations, we have to care about our environment and our beloved earth. To lessen air pollution, we can now try to go to places by bikes, and if the place you want to go to is far away from your home, try to use public buses/ trains.   :-)

Indonesia is Ours

Indonesia is one of the most beautiful country in the world with so many kinds of culture. These kinds of culture content food, tribe, sport, tradition, music, language, etc.



Baso     Satai padang     sego pecel

First of all, this report brings you to food.There are lots of delicious food in each region of Indonesia, such as baso, satai padang, gado-gado, pempek, sego pecel (sego means rice in Javanese), batagor, siomay, etc. But the most famous indonesian food in worldwide probably is baso (meatball with indonesian recipe) and fried rice (well known as nasi goreng, cooked with indonesian seasoning).

Indonesia consist of 17.504 islands and have over a thousand tribes, each tribe has its own language. For examples, Javanese in Java, Sundanese in West Java, Betawi in Jakarta, Melayu in Sumatra and half West Borneo, Badui in Banten, Madura in Madura, Dayak in Kalimantan (Borneo), Bugis and Makassar in South Sulawesi, Batak in North Sumatra. 

Last but not least. Indonesia have some traditional sports. Pencak Silat, egrang, perahu naga, benteng, and sepak takraw are some of them. But nowadays, people usually play football, badminton, tennis, basketball, or even don't do sport at all. They rather sit in front of computer, surfing the net all day. Play game on PC, PlayStation, Wii, etc. Or dating with their iPads.

 From the report above I conclude that we have to take care of all the cultures we own. From food to sport, music to language, tradition to tribe. If we don't do so, those things will be stolen by other contry or even extinct. Long live, Indonesia!
